If you are interested in being part of the seven night long Pacific Coast Disney Cruise, San Diego is going to be one of your ports of call, along with San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Ensenada.

So, let’s take a look at what you expect to see when you stop over in San Diego.
At the time of writing, your time in San Diego, California, will be from 8:30 AM until 9:30 PM, at which time you will need to be back on the ship to depart for Ensenada, Mexico.
San Diego Zoo
At over 100 acres and with over 4000 animals, San Diego zoo[i] is considered to be one of the best in the world.
It is located in downtown San Diego, in one of the largest cultural complexes on the western side of the Mississippi …Balboa Park.
In order to see exactly what the zoo has to offer it is recommended that you allow at least half a day for your visit.
The best time to visit the zoo are when the animals are most active which is early in the morning or in the late afternoon; it is also less crowded in the zoo throughout the off-peak season … fall through spring.
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
Another great attraction for all the family in San Diego is the zoo Safari Park[ii].
You will need some sort of transportation to get to the safari park because it is located 35 miles away from downtown San Diego.
Therefore, the safari park trip will take up most of a day in order to get out there, see the attractions, and get back to your ship.
The Safari Park covers 1800 acres and is advised that you check on the scheduled activities as you arrive in order to make sure that you don’t miss anything that you really want to see.
You can go on the “Journey into Africa” which takes half an hour and lets you to see all types of wildlife up close and personal… from elephants and rhinoceros, to antelopes and giraffes.
You can also visit the “Nairobi Village” where you’ll find the Park Nursery and a daily bird show.
Legoland California
30 minutes north of San Diego you’ll find Legoland California[iii] which is one of four theme parks founded by the toy company.
It also comprises of a waterpark (which closes during the winter time), and a sea life aquarium, both of which require you to pay further fees for admission.
You can buy tickets online with 60+ seniors paying the same as the kids.

San Diego Go Card
If you want to add many different things to your itinerary during your stay in San Diego venue can purchase a go card[iv] which entitles you to free admission to all of San Diego is very popular attractions.
Relaxing in the Old Town or on the Beaches
Finally, if you want a way to make your Disney Cruise San Diego stopover as relaxing as possible, you can just visit the old town which is regarded by many as the “birthplace” of modern-day California.
There are many modern-day restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, contained within Victorian era buildings in its colonial setting.
Or just spend your day relaxing on the miles of sunny sandy beaches.
