Review of 3 Cheap Hotels Cardiff City Centre

Cardiff is becoming a much more prominent destination in the UK thanks to the many cultural, sporting[i], and entertainment events[ii] which are held here every year.

Here is a brief review of the three cheap hotels, Cardiff city centre, to give you an idea of type of accommodation that is available.

Ibis Cardiff City Centre

The Ibis Cardiff city centre hotel is located on Churchill Way, approximately 20 km from Cardiff International airport and 1 km from Cardiff Central train station.

There are 102 rooms all with air conditioning, broadband Internet and wireless Internet access, satellite TV, radio, and direct dial telephone.

This is a budget hotel which provides rooms at very reasonable prices, good service and is very handy if you’re looking to have some fun within walking distance of Cardiff city centre.

At the time of writing, trip advisor ranks this hotel has number 28 out of 87, with 164 reviews.

From those reviews, 41 are average, 86 are very good or excellent, and 37 are poor or terrible.

One of the common complaints is the noise from the nearby railway and the cost of parking.

It is suggested that the price of parking on the street outside the hotel is significantly less than it will cost you to park in the car park opposite the hotel.

Victoria Hall Cardiff

The Victoria Hall Cardiff, located on Blackweir Terrace, is a “campus style” accommodation comprising off 86 flats which are ensuite.

This basic student accommodation provides flats each with a bedroom, a comfortable lounge area, fully fitted kitchen, and there is a launderette on site.

Trip advisor ranks this as number 18 out of 36 for speciality lodging in Cardiff with three reviews.

The reviews for the most part are positive saying that the rooms are comfortable, clean, and inexpensive.
