Bournemouth is one of those iconoclastic seaside towns on the south coast of England which has contributed to traditional British tourism for well over 100 years.
Today, Bournemouth has a large university culture and is a popular destination for its nightlife among UK tourists.
The town holds an annual literary festival and each summer hosts the Bournmouth gay pride festival.
With plenty of bars, nightclubs, restaurants, shops, and 7 miles of beautiful beach (when the sun shines) it an ideal spot to come check out some of the events, concerts, or shows that are being held in the area while staying in the lap of luxury in one of the Bournemouth hotels five star accommodations.

De Vere Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth
The De Vere Royal Bath hotel Bournemouth[1] is a wonderful Victorian hotel which opened on Queen Victoria’s Coronation Day in June 1838, the first Hotel of its kind in Bournemouth overlooking the East Cliff.
After a fire 1979, the building was completely restored into luxury accommodation.
The hotel won’t be to everyone’s taste because it is old, the room can’t be renovated to the standards that some people will look for in a modern building because that would take away too much from the character of the place, so you shouldn’t stay here if you are looking for the ultra-modern…this is a bit of classic British history.
Each of the 140 bedrooms in the hotel is ensuite, has radio and satellite television, free Internet access, hospitality tray, and direct dial telephone.
For food and drink you have a choice of the Royal bar and cafe, the Garden restaurant, Oscars restaurant, and Wildes bar.
For leisure, you can indulge yourself in one of the four spa treatment rooms, relax with a dip in the 18 m indoor swimming pool, or make use of the sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, or gym.

“We stayed on our Anniversary in August. Just missed the floods! We took our son with us who had just turned 1. Upgraded to a sea view room and was given a King executive with sea and garden views.”
“Very enjoyable one night stay at this once very grand and expensive now still very decent and not so expensive hotel. Shop around because there are some amazing deals to be had. We paid £129 for the room and half board which is great value for money.”
“Overall we had a good stay due to fiine weather and excellent company. We also made good use of the excellent leisure facilities. However it is highly unlikely that we would stay at the Royal Bath when we next visit Bournemouth!”
The management responded to some of the complaints but not all, I think it is so important to respond to all reviews of your hotel…good or bad.

Some of the reviews are as follows:
“Nice Hotel, great service, The Hotel is decorated in an Art deco Style, The owners have used the Style well to decorate the rooms but have used the style to do it on the cheap. the room was advertised at £150.00 I paid aThird of that price and was upgrade to a double room,
The service was excellent 4 star . But I wouldnt have been happy had I paid full price for the room for two people.
Good location and the food was excellent.”
“Me and my husband had our wedding at the Cumberland on the 3rd September 2011. We had an amazing day and the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our guests. The food was amazing, the hotel is beautiful and the staff are lovely. I can’t fault this hotel at all and would highly recommend.”
“Spent six nights at the Cumberland and found it reasonable value. The decor of the rooms is best described as ‘adventurous’ and of the main area as ‘more adventurous’, lots of weird patterns and predominant colours of black and red. Value-wise however, it was good and the service was efficient and pleasant. The bar, lounge and dining room staff were competent and spoke English well while the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms, despite the recent so-called refurbishment, were tired as with many of these grand old hotels, once away from the main reception area the carpets become thin and worn and the paint work patchy. But the overall judgment was that it was clean, well located and the price was quite acceptable”

“I was looking for a base for a visit to Monkey World and at £39 per night for 2, including breakfast and free parking this was ideal. I have read some poor reviews of this hotel but as the price was so low I wasn’t expecting the Ritz. I arrived early and a very pleasant young lady on reception said it was fine to leave the car and go into town for a couple of hours.”
“We had a double on the ground floor which was perfectly adequate but small with a very small shower room. Our friends had a twin room on the first floor which was much bigger.”
“My wife and I stayed at the beginning of August for a total of four nights, thanks to a promotion from their web site.
The hotel is much better than some reviews said (I accept some guests will never change, as they would like a 5 star service for a 2 star price…), the rooms are spacious, the food is amazing considering it’s a buffet service. And the location is just perfect.”
“This was a very disappointing stay and we wish we had looked at the reviews, then we would have had an idea what to expect! Location is excellent, close to the beach but the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. It seems to cater mainly for coach trips and the restaurant looked like a cross between a school dining room and a care home. It was very much help yourself, if you wanted a drink even, you had to go to the bar.”
