When you look for a cheap break there is always a part of you which worries about the standard of the trip, isn’t there?
Can looking up a low cost holidays review really help you?
The first thing to bear in mind is there are different types of low cost holidays reviews around.
Here we will look at the three most popular types and will assess their usefulness.
The Sites Which Sell Holidays
This is probably the first place you will come across lowcost holidays reviews.
The big down side here is that they are not going to be the most impartial reviews on the internet.
These sites want to sell you a holiday so that they are unlikely to be too critical of the holidays they are selling.
On a more positive note, this is a good place to see lots of information in one place.

Traveller’s Reviews
After looking up a few of these you will quickly realise the main drawback; they are generally very negative, such as the ones in the reference[1].
The problem is that very few holidaymakers seem to make the effort to go online and write positive lowcostholidays reviews.
On the other hand, someone who has had a bad experience is likely to start typing their comments before they have calmed down.
This makes these reviews rather depressing reading at time.
Another point to remember here is that we all have different expectation from our trips.
A trip which costs £1000 might be a once in a lifetime treat for someone but a common place event for another person.
This means that they are likely to give different feedback even if they experience more or less the same holiday.
Independent Watchdogs, Newspapers and Consumer Groups
These are probably your best place for looking up low cost holidays review articles.
This is because they are independent, have no axe to grind and nothing to sell either.
You can expect to see fair reviews which give you a reasonably well balanced view of what the place is really like.
Of course, the journalists who write these pieces are human too, and you might have different tastes and opinions from them.
The good thing here is that if they are well written then you can work out why the writer does or doesn’t like a destination and decide for yourself.
With personal reviews, on the other hand, this can be far more difficult to do.
