Hotel Playa Blanca Majorca Reviews

The Hotel Playa Blanca Majorca is located in the resort of S’Illot, about 65 km north of the capital Palma, the Son Sant Joan International airport, roughly an hour and a half drive.

The resort itself is fairly representational of the island, with the exception that this place was developed fairly moderately over the years, and there are plenty of green areas still in evidence.

The location of the Hotel Playa Blanca Majorca is just on the outskirts of the resort.

You can get to the restaurants, bars, and shops very easily, and the beautiful beach is only a stone’s throw from the Hotel front door.

The Hotel Playa Blanca Reviews

Before we start with the reviews, let me say that you get exactly what you pay for.

This hotel is rated as two star, and people shouldn’t really expect too much, it’s only basic accommodation after all.

The biggest complaint seems to be about the food and cleanliness of the Hotel.

A lot of people are not going to be happy if the menu is not English or the food is not hot, we’ll take that as a fact.

Personally, I love Spanish food, “when in Rome …” and all that.

Tripadvisor[i] has 80 reviews for the Hotel Playa Blanca and unfortunately 32 these reviews are in the category of terrible, with only 15 being very good and 5 being excellent.

Hotel Playa Blanca Majorca

The first review I came across was posted on 29 July 2011.

This person basically said that they had booked a holiday back in April and paid for it in full before they actually read any reviews.

They were quite rightly “gutted” and “thought it was gonna be awful”.

Fortunately for them, once they had arrived here, they said that the hotel was okay … “not amazing”, but what were they going to expect from an all-inclusive holiday for two people for less than £300.

Other reviews include comments such as “holiday from hell”, “worst holiday”, “bio hazard”, and “I’d never go back”.

Most of the complaints were about the cleanliness of the Hotel, but there are also complaints about health and safety … one commenter saying that her balcony rail had moved 12 inches when she placed a hand on it, this was after seeing several emergency vehicles and police vehicles outside the hotel in the early hours of the morning when a fellow holidaymaker had fallen from a second-floor balcony onto a car.

My overall concerns about any reviews for a cheap hotel are that people may expect five-star service when they are only paying two star prices, they get on the first thing they want to do is inform everybody else about their “horrible experience”.

Having said that, you should always expect to get minimum levels of hygiene, comfort, and peace of mind when you are paying for any holiday.

My advice would be if you are planning a trip to any Hotel, not just the Playa Blanca Hotel Majorca, … spend some time going through the various reviews on the Internet to make sure that you are not buying into a horror story.
