Australasia is the world’s smallest continent. Although it does contain the countries of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the neighboring Pacific Ocean Islands, (the fewest countries of any continent) it is often used to only contain the former two. It is entirely in the southern hemisphere with the islands being in the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. It is said that there are more sheep than people Australia is the sixth largest country in the world and is also contains the Great Barrier Reef which is the largest coral reef in the world. It also said that mainland Australia has been inhabited for over 42,000 years by the indigenous aboriginal people.
